He organized the Camerata Orchestra of Los Angeles in 1973, renamed the Mitzelfelt Chorale to the Camerata of Los Angeles Chorus, and served continuously since then as Music Director of the Camerata of Los Angeles Chorus and Orchestra.

Camerata of Los Angeles is based in Los Angeles and comprised of singers, professional and non-professional, who take pride in sharing the joy and beauty of choral music. Special emphasis is given to the works of J.S. Bach, which are featured on every program, along with other choral works from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern eras.

Colorado Street, Glendale, California. They perform four concerts a year, three with full orchestra and the fourth with a string quartet, piano, and one or two additional solo instruments. All the concerts feature a work by J.S. Bach, plus sacred masterworks from the great composers such as W.A. Mozart, Johannes Brahms, Schubert, Sergei Rachmaninov, Johann Pachelbel, George Frideric Handel, Antonio Vivaldi, etc.
