The Dutch organist, Sybolt de Jong, initially took lessons in organ from Piet Wiersma, and in music theory with Dick Dijk. Thereafter he studied organ with Wim van Beek and Johan Beeftink, and harpsichord with Jacques Ogg at the Groningen Conservatory. In addition he studied piano with Rob van Deinse, and participated in harpsichord masterclasses with Aline Zylberajch in El Escorial. He completed his undergraduate organ study in 1982 and postgraduate harpsichord study in 1985.
Sybolt de Jong teaches both organ and harpsichord at the ICO (Centre of Culture and Art) in Assen. He has performed recitals in Germany, Denmark and Spain, in addition to his appearances in Holland. As an accompanist, he regularly performs with choirs, and both instrumental and vocal soloists.
