The Swedish soprano, Anna Jobrant Dalnäs, started studying at the School of Music and Music Education at Göteborg University in 1995. She has a Master’s Degree in Music Education in Singing and Musical Communication. She has studied Baroque Singing at the Individual Performance Programme and currently (2005) is studying at the Postgraduate Diploma Programme. She get invaluable guidance and inspiration from her singing coach Emma Kirkby and her coach Manuela Wiesler.
Anna Jobrant Dalnäs' musical career started during the Göteborg International Organ Academy in August 2000 when she, together with Göteborg Baroque (Director: Magnus Kjellson) performed four different concerts with early music in one week! During incredibly intensive weeks of rehearsals and during the concerts she felt fulfilled and alive, her musicality, musical intuition and my voice all fell in place; she had found her music! Later on they made several tours in Italy and Germany, participated in Stockholm Early Music Festival and also recorded two CD’s.
Anna Jobrant Dalnäs is mainly as a concert singer, specialising in music from the 17th and 18th century, but has also been singing in the Opera Choir at Göteborg Opera House. Her J.S. Bach's repertoire includes: Johannes-Passion (BWV 245), Christmas Oratorio (BWV 248), Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244), Magnificat (BWV 243), Mass in A major (BWV 234), several cantatas and motets, and the newly discovered aria "Alles mit Gott und nichts ohn' ihn" (BWV 1127).
During the last couple of years Anna Jobrant Dalnäs has been freelancing in many different musical contexts, mostly as a soprano soloist in oratorios or in solo concerts. She has performed in Göteborg International Organ Academy again (2002 and 2004) and in Flandern Festival in Belgium 2002. During 2004 she was one of the initiators to Göteborg Baroque - an independent music group whose aim is to gather musicians and singers with a love for early music! Their ambition is to offer continuous concerts with baroque music in Göteborg - something that has never existed before. Göteborgsposten wrote after a concert with Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem in which she sang the soprano solo: "”Pure, clean, and crystal clear. Just the way it is supposed to be.” |
