The English bass-baritone, Christopher (Chris) Jeanes, was Choral Scholar at St Mary's, Barnes (September 2010-Jul 2011), singing as part of the choir for regular Sunday Eucharists and Evensongs under Christopher Bucknall and Daniel Turner; then Bass singer in St Mary-le-Strand (October 2011-August 2014), Professional quartet under the Director of Music Colin Spinks who sing at major feast days and other services. He graduated with a BSc degree in Chemistry from University College London (2011-2014) and spent a year as a Bass Choral Scholar in St David’s Cathedral, Pembrokeshire afterwards (September 2014-July 2015).
Since returning to London, Christopher Jeanes has built an active singing career, particularly in Cathedral music where he is a regular deputy at St George's RC Cathedral, Southwark; Rochester Cathedral; and Winchester Cathedral. He is also occasionally appears as a soloist and performances include L.v. Beethoven's Mass in C major with the Welwyn Garden City Music Society; Pilate and Arias in the J.S. Bach's St John Passion (BWV 245); Peter and Judas in J.S. Bach's St Matthew Passion (BWV 244), W.A. Mozart's Great Mass in C Minor, Coronation Mass, and Gabriel Fauré and Maurice Duruflé Requiems, and on a lighter note, the Usher in Gilbert and Sullivan's Trial by Jury. In his spare time, he conducts the weekly Compline service at St Gabriel's, Pimlico and longs to get back in shape. In 2018, he founded Zimmermann Band, a London-based Early Music orchestra and vocal consort.
