The American soprano, Mellissa Hughes, holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Westminster Choir College, Princeton; and recently obtained her Master of Music degree from Yale University.
Mellissa Hughes is earning a reputation as an educated interpreter of music of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Her edition of the Messed du Tournai is featured on the National Cathedral recording A Sound from Heaven. Recent appearances include Arnold Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire, Dido in Henry Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas directed by Andrew Lawrence-King, and a broadcasted performance of George Frideric Handel’s Messiah in Budapest, Hungary. |
