The German conductor, Franz-Peter Huber, studied catholic church music at the Johannes Gutenberg university in Mainz finishing as A-church-musician and a diploma in singing paedagogue. He studied choir and orchestra directing with Professor Wolfgang Schäfer at the Hochschule für "Musik und Darstellende Kunst" in Frankfurt/Main, finishing with diploma in choir conducting.
After his studies Franz-Peter Huber was active as Domkantor in Mainz. From March 1994 until December 1997 he occupied this position at the Fuldaer Dom, which covered various tasks: directing of Mädchenkantorei and Domsingknaben, directing of the Domsingschule, and lecturing at the Bischöflichen Kirchenmusikinstitut (KMI).
Since December 1997 Franz-Peter Huber holds the position of the Domkapellmeisters at the Fuldaer Dom, that additionally gave up the artistic directing as a conductor of the Fuldaer Domchores.
Already since 1983 he is active as a conductor, hereby connected in concerts with different vocal ensembles in co-operation with renowned orchestras (Neues Bachisches Collegium Leipzig, St. James Baroque Players, London, Westfälisches Sinfonie-Orchester Recklinghausen, etc.). Likewise he works particularly as a concert singer within the scope of Lieder and oratorio. |
