The German baritone, Johannes Hill, received his first musical education with the Wiesbadener Knabenchor, where he also had the first opportunity to sing as a soloist. From 2008 to 2011, he studied for Bachelor of Education degree with a major in singing. In 2013, he won a a scholarship of the Richard-Wagner-Verband Wiesbaden. In 2015, he successfully completed his graduate singing studies with Hans Christoph Begemann at the Hochschule für Musik Mainz. Master-classes with Rudolf Piernay, Helmuth Rilling, Ton Koopman, Andreas Scholl and Michael Hofstetter complement his education.
As a soloist in the oratorio field, Johannes Hill is in great demand in the Rhine-Main area and beyond and has got many engagements as guest soloist at German theatres. In December 2015, he was a program with J.S. Bach's cantatas with the Deutschen Kammerchor and the Kammerorchester Basel under the direction of Andreas Scholl and could be heard at the Alte Oper Frankfurt, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, Grand Théatre de Provence, Aix en Provence Martinskirche in Basel.
In 2014, Johannes Hill appeared at the Hochschule für Musik Mainz as Nardo in W.A. Mozart's La finta giardiniera, as well as in a concert performance of the opera Domenico Mazzochi's La catena d'adone at the internationalen Maifestspielen Wiesbaden. In 2013 he sang the Conte di Almaviva in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro. With the ensemble of the excellence program "Baroque vocal" of the Hochschule für Musik Mainz, he appeared at the Frankfurt Opera in Cavalieri's Rapresentation di anima ed di corpo.
Another focus in the busy concert life is the ensemble singing. Johannes Hill is a member of several professional vocal ensembles in Germany, among others the Kammerchor Stuttgart under the direction of Frieder Bernius. |
