Clemens Heidrich (Bass-Baritone)

Born: Dresden, Saxony, Germany

The German bass-baritone, Clemens Heidrich, received his first musical education in Dresdner Kreuzchor and later in the music special class of Lessing Gymnasium Hoyerswerda. In 2002, he passed his solo concert exam at the Hochschule für Musik "Carl Maria von Weber" in Dresden. Currently he is coached by the singing teacher Karin Mitzscherling.

Since then, Clemens Heidrich is a freelancer and mainly active as a concert singer. He has toured to Antwerp, Bergen (Norway), Jerusalem, Lisbon, Paris and Tokyo, to the festival La folle journée, among others. Ensembles with whom he has worked are the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Dresdner Barockorchester, Concerto Köln, Dresdner Kammerchor, Das Kleine Konzert, Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Händelfestspielorchester Halle, RIAS-Kammerchor, Dresdner Kreuzchor, Dresdner Singakademie, Rheinische Kantorei and Dresden Staatskapelle, among others.. He sings with conductors such as Iván Fischer, Daniel Harding, René Jacobs, Paavo Järvi, Roderich Kreile, Ludwig Güttler, Hermann Max, Roger Norrington, Hans-Christoph Rademann and Daniël Reuss. In addition he is a member of the RIAS-Kammerchor and Vocalconsort Berlin.

In March 2014, Clemens Heidrich made his debut at the Sächsischen Staatsoper Dresden with the title role in Jörg Herchet's opera Zueinander.
