The German conductor and organist, Arno Hatmann, received his first musical training in piano and organ in his home town Duisburg, as well as afterwards in Düsseldorf. He studied at the University for Music in Vienna with Martin Haselböck, Michael Radulescu and Peter Planyavsky, Erwin Ortner, Günther Theuring and Leopold Hager. He also participated in master-classes with Daniel Roth in Haarlem/Amsterdam and Andrew Parrott (historical performance practice) in Göteborg, as well as with Zubin Mehta and Vaclav Neumann.
From 1989 to 1994 Arno Hatmann was organist and Stadtkantor at the Lutherischen Stadtkirche, Vienna; from 1994 to 2003 Dioezesankantor of the Lutherischen Landeskirche, Vienna. There he created and led choir and orchestras Camerata & Capella Lutherana Wien. In September 2003 he became a full-time Kirchenmusiker (church musician) and Kreiskantor in the Kirchenkreis Bochum and is thereby conductor of the Stadtkantorei Bochum.
Numerous concerts Arno Hatmann to Germany, Austria (concerts with the RSO-Wien, the Wiener Symphonikern - with the conductors Georges Prêtre, Roger Norrington and Bruno Weil - at the Lockenhauser Kammermusikfest, the Wiener Festwochen, etc.), Italy, Croatia, Switzerland, Denmark (Copenhagen Summer Festival), France (Festival "L'été musical dans la vallée du Lot"), Sweden, Finland and South Africa. In November 2001 he had his concert debut in the USA, where he also led master-class at the Emory University in Atlanta.
As a conductor Arno Hatmann has co-operated with the Göttinger Symphonikern, the Wiener Kammerorchester, the Ensemble Neue Streicher Wien, the Wiener Konzertchor and the Concilium Musicum Wien (on original instruments), among others..
As conductor and organist Arno Hatmann paticipated in numerous broadcast and television programmes and live transmissions in Austria (ORF), Italy (RAI) and France (TV 3). He had CD productions with Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (Sony-Classical), the Concilium Musicum Wien (Ars Mundi), Camerata & Capella Lutherana Wien (Extraplatte). |
