The German violinist and conductor, Andreas Hartmann, received his first musical education at the Music Musikschule and the Spezialmusikschule Halle (Saale). In 1977 he began studying at the Hochschule für Musik "Franz Liszt" in Weimar with Professor Jost Witter. After graduation, he had two years of postgraduate studies.
In 1984, Andreas Hartmann was engaged as the first concertmaster of the Große Rundfunkorchester Leipzig. In 1990 he assumed the same position at the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Leipzig (now: MDR Sinfonieorchester Leipzig). After the successful participation in various international competitions, such as the Internationalen Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Wettbewerb in Leipzig in 1980, and the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow in 1982, he undertook concert tours and master-classes so far in almost all European countries, including the USA.
