The Korean soprano, Minyoung Catharina Häger (Minyoung Lee), studied singing and cultural management in Seoul and completed her master studies in Berlin and Stuttgart. In 2014 she was a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Verbandes in Bayreuth and won the 3rd prize at the Gesangswettbewerb der Opernakademie Baden-Baden.
In scenic productions Minyoung Catharina Häger sang arias by Fiordiligi in W.A. Mozart's Così fan tutte, Countess in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, Violetta in La traviata, Mimì in La Bohème and Marie in Alban Berg's Wozzeck. At the Wilhelma Theater Stuttgart she sang György Kurtág's song cycle Die Botschaften der verstorbenen R. V. Troussova. In 2014-2015 season, she appeared in the title role in Nixe at the Jungen Oper Stuttgart and performed Bussotti'ss Il Nudo in the frame of the Neue Musik Festivals Der Sommer in Stuttgart. In 2016-2017 season, she once again collaborated with the Jungen Oper in the new production of Benjamin.
As a concert soloist Minyoung Catharina Häger sang with orchestras such as the Kammerorchester Basel, Elbipolis Barockorchester Hamburg, Sinfonia Varsovia and Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire. Invitations led Minyoung Catharina Häger as a soloist to the Usedomer Musikfestival, Händel Festspielen Göttingen, Schleswig Holstein Musik Festival and Festspielen Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In addition, she regularly participates in the choirs Gaechinger Cantorey (Director: Hans-Christoph Rademann), choir of the Bamberger Symphoniker and Collegium Vocale Gent (Director: Philippe Herreweghe). |
