The Chilean soprano, Melisa [Melissa] Gómez Carreño, obtained her Bachelor degree in History from Universidad de Santiago de Chile; and her Bachelor of Music degree in Musical Performance with mention of Lyrical Singing from the Facultad de Artes de la Universidad de Chile.
In 2010 she made her debut in the rock opera genre Ícaro, with the role of Ariadna. In 2011 she made her debut as a solo soprano with Schubert's Mass in G major conducted by Eduardo Brown. She has performed as a soloist in various venues, such as: Museo de Arte Contemporáneo, Teatro Municipal de Viña del Mar, Teatro del Lago, Frutillar. During 2014 she perfected her lyrical technique and operatic repertoire at Lotte Lehmann Academie in Germany. During 2015 and 2016 she is a soloist in the regional project Fondart Identifícate con la música, performing concert cycles. She participated in the Official Concert Season of the Teatro Municipal de Viña del Mar. She performed Gabriel Fauré's Requiem with the orquesta Marga-Marga conducted by Luis José Recart Echenique. In 2016, she was selected for the Festival internacional de Música Panticosa, by Teresa Berganza, in Spain.
Melisa Gómez sang as soprano at Municipal de Santiago - Ópera Nacional de Chile (April-June 2018), and at Teatro Municipal de las Condes (since 2019). She has served as University Professor and professional snger at Universidad de Santiago de Chile (since March 2016). She currently lives in Santiago, Chile. |
