The German tenor, Nils Giesecke, was a chorister of the Leipzig St Thomas Choir. He studied singing with Professor Eva Schubert at the Leipzig College of Music and Professor Johannes Kempter in Dresden.
Since his success in the International Bach Competition in Leipzig in 1980, Nils Giesecke has been part of the ensemble of the Opera House in Halle, where he appeared as lyric tenor in over 75 productions including the leading roles in several George Frideric Handel operas. Numerous guest performances have taken him to venues like the opera house in Leipzig and the Semperoper in Dresden. Nils Giesecke regularly appears in concert with the St Thomas Choir, the Kreuzkirche Choir of Dresden and the University of Leipzig Choir. Numerous performances have taken him to European countries. His various engagements in concerts, TV and commercial recordings are all proof of the wide spectrum of his concert and oratorio repertoire. |
