The Swiss choral conductor, Christophe Gesseney, studied music at the Conservatories of Fribourg, Geneva and Lausanne. Among his teachers were Jorge Pepi (theory), Tini Westendorp (singing), Michel Corboz, Jenö Rehák and Jean-François Monot (conducting).
In 1981, Christophe Gesseney founded the Ensemble Vocal Euterpe of Lausanne with which he participates successfully in competitions and concerts in Switzerland and abroad. Christophe Gesseney also directs the Ensemble Choral de la Côte in Nyon and the Choeur Vivace de Lausanne, ensembles with which he gives many concerts in Switzerland, France and Spain. He performs the big works of the choral repertoire with orchestra as well as numerous a-capella works.
Christophe Gesseney has collaborated with the conductor François Rochaix. He is member of the Swiss committee Europa Cantat. In 1992 he founded the training summer course "Musique-Montagne" in Diablerets, of which he is the artistic director. His musical activity is also dedicated to performing works of Swiss composers, in particular Antoine Auberson and Domenica Gesseney-Rappo. |
