The Italian tenor, Fabio Furnari, had passion for music when he was very young and he began to sing in the La Bottega musicale di San Raffaele Cimena. He then specialized in the early performance practice under the guidance of Alan Curtis and Pedro Memelsdorff, facing in parallel the study of classical guitar with Elena Casoli.
Professional for almost twenty years, Fabio Furnari has a wide solo repertoire ranging from J. Desprez and G. Dufay; Cantatas, Passions and Christmas Oratorio (BWV 248) by J.S. Bach; Masses of W.A. Mozart and F. Schubert; Vespro della Beata Vergine and Orfeo by C. Monteverdi; Oratorios and Cantatas by G. Carissimi; sacred music of H. Purcell; Cantatas of the Italian '600; up to the contemporary vocal works of S. Sciarrino, G. Petrassi, C Galante, Arvo Pärt, Y. Gubanov, R. Laganà. A. Solbiati, S. Bo, R. Pascal, F. Nieder (some of them world premiere).
Fabio Furnari has participated in the most famous world festivals and has recorded more than 150 records with the most important international record labels (including the integral of Motets by G. Dufay, Vespro della Beata Vergine, the complete book of Madrigals by C. Monteverdi and C. Gesualdo da Venosa), obtaining the best acknowledgments of international critics (among which the Diapason d'Or of the years 2003 and 2005, 2010, 2012, 17 choc de la musique, 7 discs of the year of Amadeus). In addition to the musical production, which sees him present in the most important theaters, should also be mentioned the participation in the Biennale di Venezia (2008) as a leading actor, together with Toni Servillo, in the film Un canto lontano directed by Alberto Momo and the collaboration with Osiris band. He is also Artistic Director of the early music association Gli Invaghiti. |
