The German choral conductor, Andrea Fournier, recied in 1992-1993 organ lessons with Klaus-Christian Hart Kratzenstein. In 1993 she passed C-Exam for Church Music in Rottenburg/Neckar. She studied Catholic church music and instrumental pedagogy (organ) ) with Kurt Neuhauser (organ), Wolfgang Kreuzhuber (organ improvisation) and Josef Döller (choral conductuing) at the Universität für Musik Graz (Diploma with distinction, 1999). She also studied music education, majoring in piano with Manfred Tausch, organ with Michael Kapsner. She participated in organ interpretation courses with at L. Tagliavini, A.F. Kropfreiter, L. Lohmann, Wolfgang Zerer, H. Vogel and Hans Fagius; improvisation course with Wolfgang Seifen and Peter Planyavsky. In 1997 she participated successfully in the competition for young church musicians in Fürth.
Since 1998, Andrea Fournier is organist and choir director at the Stadtpfarrkirche Graz. She has developmd and directed various children's and youth choirs. She founded the Chor der Stadtpfarrkirche ("Forum Vokal Sakral"), which she has directed in numerous works of the sacred literature, including J.S. Bach (Magnificat in D major BWV 243, Johannes-Passion BWV 245, Weihnachts-Oratorium BWV 248, Mass in B minor BWV 232), George Frideric Handel (Messiah) and W.A. Mozart (Requiem). At the Stadtpfarrkirche she also directs the Stadtpfarrküken, Kinder- and Jugendchor. She gives organ concerts at home and abroad. In 2002 she released her first solo CD, recorded at the Rieger organ of the Stadtpfarrkirche Graz. Since 2010-2011 season she directs the Singschul’ der Oper Graz (Singing School of the Graz Opera), with which she was awarded in 2011 with a silver medal at the International Choir Competition in Graz, and in 2013 1st Prize at the Landesjugendsingen (country's youth singing competition). |
