Zacharie Fogal (Tenor)

Born: May 24, 1992 - Timmins, Ontario, Canada

The Canadian tenor, Zacharie Fogal, obtained his Bachelor of Music degree from from Wilfrid Laurier University in Canada with Daniel Lichti (2010-2014). He is currently studying for his Master of Music degree in singing performance at the Zürich University of the Arts with Professor Scot Weir.

Zacharie Fogal has been heard in various opera roles, including Don Basilio and Don Curzio in W.A. Mozart's La Nozze di Figaro, and sang as a tenor soloist in the Monteverdi's Vespers. He has appeared as a guest soloist on the recent productions (George Frideric Handel's The Messiah and On Wenlock Edge) of the Timmins Concert Singers and the Timmins Symphony Orchestra. He was selected in 2010 and 2012 to sing in the Canadian National Youth Choir. He also participated twice in the Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute and last year performed J.S. Bach's Cantata BWV 211 (Coffee Cantata) with the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra (Director: Jeanne Lamon).

Zacharie has had several opportunities to perform in Switzerland. This year he sang the evangelist in Heinrich Schütz' Christmas history, and tenor solos in J.S. Bach's Cantata BWV 147 and W.A. Mozart;s Coronation Mass with the Rämibühl Chamber Choir. He is also a member of Chor der J.S. Bach-Stiftung. St. Gallen (Director: Rudolf Lutz; since 2019), Schweizer Vokalconsort (Director: Marco Amherd; since 2018), and Singkreis Egg Meilen (Director: Ernst Buscagne). He currently lives in Zürich, Switzerland.
