The Chilean composer, singer, conductor and researcher, Cristian Fernández Toro, obtained his Licence in Music and Music Composition from the Universidad Academia de Humanismo Cristiano (2014-2019); and his Master of Arts degree with a mention in music via creation from the Pontificia universidad católica de Chile (2020-2021). Has been educated by the guidance of Miguel Farías (Chile), but also has been perfectionated in different instances with Francesco Filidei (Switzerland), Oscar Bianchi (Italy), Richard Barrett (England) and others.
Cristian Fernández has been awarded as a composer and his works has been performed in Latin América and Europe, in countries like Chile, Argentina, Spain, Germany, Hungary and others.
As singer Cristian Fernández has been formed as tenor, participating in many projects of early music, contemporary music, concert music and opera, as a soloist and choralist. He has been part, in Chile, of the Taktus Vocal Ensemble, Coro de Cámara UC, Santiago (Director: Gerard Ramos Pardo), Coro de la Compañía Lírica Disidente. Also, he is conductor of Gesture Ensamble Vocal de Solistas and Vocal coach and asistant conductor at the Student Choir of FOJI (since March 2023).
Cristian Fernández is a researcher from the Ponticia Universidad Católica de Chile. He is developing researching projects in the field of opera, contemporary music, chilean music history and vocal arts. Has also been invited to be professor in many institutions in Chile (as UACH, FOJI, MINEDUC) to colaborate with the formation of conductors, singers, composers and musicians. |
