The German tenor, Nico Eckert, studied first bassoon at the Hochschule für Musik „Hanns Eisler“ in Berlin, obtaining his diploma in 1994. Then he studied singing with Kammersänger Roman Trekel, obtaining singing diploma at the same university. Already in 1996, he won the 1st prize at the competition “Junge Solisten” in Schwerin.
Since completing his studies in 1994, Nico Eckert numerous has had solo engagements in various cities in Germany and in Switzerland to Poland, Denmark, Czech Republic, France, Italy and the USA. He has specialized mostly in the oratorio repertoire, with more than 400 concerts in this area. The works of J.S. Bach and contemporary music literature form focal points.
Among the highlights of his professional activities are, in addition to several opera productions, concerts with the MDR Sinfonieorchester Leipzig, CD productions, guest star in Broadway in New York, die Mitgestaltung musikalischer Banketts, Opern und Bühnenstücke with the Komischen Oper Berlin, as well as cantatas with Dresdner Kreuzchor and Thomanerchor Leipzig. He has worked with renowned conductors such as Georg Christoph Biller, Roderich Kreile, Fabio Luisi and Howard Arman. |
