The German baritone, Jörn Dopfer, born in studied opera and concert singing, as well as and singing education and theology in Leipzig and Hamburg. He is prize-winner of the Deutschen Schubert-Gesellschaft.
As an opera performer, Jörn Dopfer sings mainly contemporary music, he worked with Goetz Friedrich and Matthias Oldag at the opera houses in Brandenburg, Rheinberg, Leipzig and Kiel. Concert engagements have led him to the Theater de Champs Elysees in Paris, the Cathedral Vieja in Salamanca, the Wiener Hofburg and the Wiener Musikverei, as well as "Styriarte" in Graz. In New Year's Eve 1999-2000, he sang the baritone part of the premiere of Zwölf Wünsche an das Neue Jahrtausend by Siegfried Matthus/Thomas Höft conducted by Christian Thielemann at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
In the past years Jörn Dopfer was heard in radio broadcasting in Germany, Austria, Japan and Lithuania.
Since October 2002 Jörn Dopfer is Professor of singing at the Hamburger Musikhochschule. Among his pupils: Christoph Eder (Tenor), Sander de Jong (Tenor). |
