Created in 1981 by Thierry Merle, the Ensemble Vocal et Instrumental du Dauphiné offers each year, in Rhone-Alpes, major works of the repertoire for choir and orchestra.
The vocal ensemble is made up of around forty male and female choristers, divided equally into the four sections. From various origins (Lyon, Valence, Bourgoin-Jallieu, Annonay, Vienne ...) they are singers with a solid musical training allowing them to get involved as much as possible in demanding works.
The orchestra is made up of professional musicians mostly from the Lyon orchestra Confluences. Each year, Martine Lecointe, first violin, selects the instrumentalists according to the programmed works.
Professional singers from conservatories and regional lyrical ensembles, the soloists also vary according to the works presented. Among the last participants, should be mentioned Suzanne Simonka or Sophie Avril-Leydier (sopranos), Myriam Djemour (contralto), Eric Chorier or Richard Soignon (tenor), Thierry Reynaud or Patrice Berger (basses), Paulin Bündgen or Christophe Baska (counter-tenors) ... |
