The English tenor, Jason Darnell, studied at the Britten-Pears School and went on to gain an MA in Vocal Performance Practice at the University of York.
Jason Darnell has performed extensively both at home and abroad, including early music in Versailles, Leipzig, Warsaw, Corfu and the Czech Republic. He has recorded and broadcast on ITV, Channel 4 and BBC Radio 3. He also records with Corona Coloniensis for W.D.R. Recent performances have included a programme of French baroque music with the Harmonia Universale at the York Early Music Festival, a recording at the Herne Festival with Corona Coloniensis, George Frideric Handel's Messiah and Purcell's The Fairy Queen with the Yorkshire Bach Choir. He has also taken part in a live E.B.U. broadcast from Poland of the world premi're of Zebrowski's Magnificat and Wanski's Missa de Nativitate Domini with Concerto Polacco. |
