The Chilean choral conductor, singer and speech therapist, Mauricio Cortés López, received his musical training at the Facultad de Artes de la Universidad de Chile (Superior Interpretation in Singing) and at the Instituto de Música de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (Musical Performance with a mention in Singing and a Bachelor of Music degree). In particular he studied Choral and Orchestral Conducting with the teacher Ricardo Kistler.
Mauricio Cortés López' His work in choral conductor includes different types of groups, both vocational and professional, among others: Grupo Música (1978-1980), Coro de la IIª Comuna de la I. Municipalidad de Santiago (1980-1981), Coro del Grupo Cámara Chile (1981-1982), Coro Eatri (1983-1984), Coro Good Year (1990-1992), Ensamble Vocal Cum Laude (1998-2003), Coro BankBoston (2002-2003).
Mauricio Cortés López is currently an academic at the Instituto de Música de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and serves as the principal conductor of the Coro de Cámara de la Universidad Católica de Chile. He also directs the Coro de Cámara Codelco Chile. He currently lives in Santiago, Chile. |
