Detlef Bratschke (Boy Soprano, Boy Alto, Counter-tenor) |
Born: Germany |
Detlef Bratschke was a member of the Knabenchor Hannover in the years 1978-1981. He was very much interested in early music since he joined the choir as a small boy.
Detlef Bratschke sang solo parts for soprano and for alto in recordings of J.S. Bach's Cantatas under the direction of Gustav Leonhardt in his joint cantata cycle with Nikolaus Harnoncourt. He also sang as a soloist in other recordings, including two Philippe Herreweghe and Jordi Savalll productions of Orlando di Lasso motets with the Knabenchor Hannover and Collegium Vocale Gent and the famous Heinrich Schütz' recordings of the Knabenchor Hannover (Schwanengesang and Geistliche Chormusik), where he also plays the recorder in some motets as part of a professional ensemble playing on baroque instruments - he was 15 or 16 years old then! As a boy he also sang in the boys' terzetto in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte in the Hannover opera house.
In 1981 Detlef Bratschke founded the "Orlando di Lasso Ensemble", which is still very active. After his university studies of singing and conducting, he also works today as soloist and conductor with various professional Early Music ensembles. |
