The American tenor, Eric Balboni, has been performing since his first piano recital at the age of 6 years old. He studied at Wareham High School (Class of 2010). He has studied voice, piano, flute and organ privately for a number of years and performs frequently. He is currently (since 2014) a Master’s student at New York University working toward his degree in Vocal Performance in Classical Voice with a Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy in the studio of Dr. Scott Murphree. Eric recently competed on a national level during the Classical Singer Magazine National Vocal Competition held in Chicago, Illinois.
Eric Balboni made his operatic debut was in NYU’s production of Cendrillon by Jules Massenet where he sang the role of Le Surintendant as well as a member of the ensemble. Over the past year (2015), he was involved in several recitals featuring the works of new composers such as the Dynamic Music Festival and several student recitals in which he helped to premier both choral and solo repertoire. Eric has studied the roles of Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Hyllus in Hercules, Lindoro in L’Italiana in Algeri, and Dom Pedro in L'Europe Galante. He looks forward to continuing his studies and working with voice students of his own as an Adjunct Voice Faculty Member of NYU in the fall.
Eric Balboni has performed on each of his instruments at various events including weddings, small awards ceremonies and art shows. He has performed a number of solo recitals on each respective instrument and has been a featured soloist of several concerts including the Cranberry Coast Concerts summer series. He began accompanying small choruses at the age of 19 and continues to play for and perform with both soloists and ensembles of many varieties. Hae has worked as Piano, Vocal, and Flute Instructor at Galliard Music Inc. (since
2014) and as Adjunct Voice Instructor at New York University (since 2015). |
