The Ukraine-bormn organist and harpsichordist, Taras Baginets, studierd at Kharkov Music College Kharkov, Ukraine (1989-1993). He graduated in 1997 in piano and organ from the Kharkiv Institute of Arts, where he studied with Professor Serhiy Yushkevich; and in 2009 from the St. Petersburg State University with the award of the degree of Master of Arts and the Humanities (with Professor A. Panov, Professor D. Zaretsky). In addition he has supplemented his studies in several master-classes with leading European Professors, including Heinrich Walther (Germany), Michael Radulescu (Austria), Hans Fagius (Sweden), Zsigmund Zsatmary (Germany), Ludger Lohmann (Germany).
Taras Baginets was a winner/prize-winner in 10 international competitions in Germany, Russia and Lithuania. In 2002, he was a winner at the First International Oleg Yantchenko Organ Competition in Volgograd, Russia and got the Special Prize from St.Petersburg Shostakovich Philharmonic Society. He has won following prizes: 1st Prize in Internatonal Organ Competition in St.Petersburg, Russia (2005); 1st Prize in Russian Open Organ Competition in Kazan, Russia (2007); 2nd Prize in International Mikael Tariverdiev Organ Competition, Moscow-Hamburg-Kaliningrad (2005); 2nd Prize of International Alexander Gedicke Organ Competition in Moscow (2008); 3rd Prize in International Organ Competition in Hessen, Germany (2003).
Taras Baginets was organist of the Kharkiv Organ Concert Hall of the Kharkiv Philharmonic Society in Kharkiv, Ukraine from 1996 to 2002. From 2002 he is organist of the Sverdlovsk State Philharmonic Society in Yekaterinburg (Ekaterinsburg), Russia. He is a soloist with the Sverdlovsk State Academic Philharmonic Society, as both organist and harpsichordist. For over 20 years (since 1995) he has performed in concert halls of Russia, in prestigious halls of Europe; including on historical organs of the 17-19th centuries: Cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris, St. Thomas church in Leipzig, St. Jacobs and St.Michaelischurches in Hamburg, the Riga Dom, Niguliste church in Tallinn, St. Benigne in Dijon, Lausanne Cathedral, Lübecker Dom, Moscow Catholic Cathedral and many others. He is regularly invited to participate in large international organ festivals in Germany, France, Poland, Italy, Sweden, Finland, and has appeared in numerous concerts in Ukraine, Russia, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Czekhia, Austria, Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia and France.
Taras Baginets' broad, eclectic repertoire allows him to tailor programmes to suit any organ and setting. During each season he gives more than 50 concerts, submits not less than 15 solo different concert programs, performing with orchestras, soloists, and is an active figure in organ education. He founded & provide cycles of organ recitals (Organ History, J.S. Bach) in Kharkov Concert Hall of Organ and Chamber Music, regularly appear with numerous musicians and ensembles. Since 2011, he is the founder and artistic director of the International Bach-Fest, which is held annually in Yekaterinburg in March.

Bach and his French Contemporaries " (Strasbourg, 2014, recorded on historical organ of J.A.Silbermann, 1741). He has recorded also for TV and radio. He currently lives in Yekaterinburg, Russia. |
