The Italian harpsichordist, Luca Ambrosio, graduated in piano with Maestro D. Manigrasso and harpsichord with full marks at the “V. Bellini “of Catania with Maestro S. Carchiolo (1992-2000); he also graduated from the Scuola di Alto Perfezionamento Musicale di Saluzzo (Cuneo). He later studied at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel (Switzerland) with J.B. Christensen. He also has a degree in Musicology and in research of Literary and Musical Text sciences from the University of Pavia, Cremona campus (2002-2004). He has attended harpsichord and chamber music courses with Fabio Bonizzoni, LF Tagliavini and G. Paronuzzi, of medieval and renaissance musical semiography with G. Acciai, of jazz and contemporary music with G. Gaslini, F. D’Andrea and C. Canonici.
Luca Ambrosio has collaborated for several years with the Sicilian Institute of Ancient Music, the Baroque chamber ensemble Harmoniosi Concenti, the ensemble Il Cortile delle Palme, the Baroque Orchestra Les Elements, and other ensembles and soloists specialized in the performance of early music on original instruments. He plays harpsichord, piano and organ with Orchestra Barocca Siciliana since 1999 and serves as its president since July 2020.
Luca Ambrosio has worked several times for the drama theater, collaborating with prestigious institutions. He is also teacher at Scuola Media Leonardo da Vinci Siracusa (since November 2016); and Doctor of Literary and Musical Text Science at University of Pavia (since May 2017). In 2016 he won the “VII Premio Internazionale di Studi Musicologici “F. M. Ruspoli” award. |
