Schoch on Händel’s ‘Deborah’
Michael Grover wrote (December 12, 2001):
I note that Knut Schoch, one of Leusink's tenors in his cantata series, sings tenor on Naxos's new release of Händel's 'Deborah' oratorio. Schoch has been well criticized on this list at times, but I think he does quite well, personally. I enjoy the warm, straightforward qualities in his voice. He is certainly not as polished as some (Mark Padmore and Anthony Rolfe Johnson come to mind), but his singing has never outright bothered me, and I have enjoyed it more often than not. I would be interested in hearing him singing Händel, in English.

[To Michael Grover] Is this recording currently available in the United States?
Michael Grover wrote (December 12, 2001):
[To Richard Grant] Hmmmm... good point. No, I couldn't find it on any of the US-based websites. amazon.de does have it, and gives a release date in Germany of December 3. I couldn't find a US release date on Naxos's website anywhere.
