Goldberg Variations BWV 988: Variation 11 [1:09]
J.S. Bach: Goldberg Variations. Glenn Gould and Stefano Greco play side by side Variation XI, with its impossible crossings. This is a virtuosic two-part toccata in 12/16 time. Specified for two manuals, it is largely made up of various scale passages, arpeggios and trills, and features much hand-crossing of different kinds, which are very difficult to perform on the piano. Stefano Greco plays without any adjustments, exactly as J.S. Bach wrote in the score. |
