Description:

The inscription reads: “Engraved from the original painting in the Thomasschule, Leipzig”, but this was in the private ownership of the cantor A.E. Müller until 1809 (cf. B-01). Hilgenfeldt wrote in 1850 of a “very good etching in folio, which has become very rare”.
