Born: April 7, 1715 - Leipzig, Saxony, Germany
Died: not determined |
Johann Christoph Zwicker was born to Johann Christoph Zwicker (gate-clerk in Leipzig). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on May 5, 1728; and studied there from 1728 to 1733, since August 17, 1722 already as external. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. J.S. Bach recorted (August 23, 1730): “incompetent, not at all musical”. |
