Johann Gottfried Wolff was born the son of Georg Wolff. He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on May 9, 1737; studied there from 1737 to 1743, since March 22, 1736 already as external; and at Universität Leipzig from 1742. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. |
