Johann Christian Friedrich Wendebaum was born the son of Gottfried Wendebaum (Kantor in Halberstadt). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on May 2, 1735; studied there from 1735 to 1737, since February 16, 1735 already as external; and at Universität Leipzig from 1735. Then he was Gymnasium illustrator in Weißenfels in 1737, stayed in Jena in 1737, attended again Universität Leipzig from 1739, and Universität Halle from 1741. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. |
