Gerhard Rudolph Albrecht Sievers was born the son of Father: Heinrich Sievers (Pastor in Schleswig-Friedrichsberg). From 1729 he attended the Akademischen Gymnasium in Hamburg; he studied in Kiel from 1730. From 1732/1733 he worked as court organist in Kiel. In 1739-1740 he studied at Universität Leipzig (enrollment on October 20, 1739) and was J.S. Bach's student there. Around 1746 stayed in St. Petersburg. Further whereabouts unknown.
Gerhard Rudolph Albrecht Sievers mentioned his music and composition lessons with J.S. Bach in two letters from 1740.
