Johann Gottlieb Seyffarth enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on May 27, 1719; studied there from 1719 to 1727; and at Universität Leipzig from 1723. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. He died as a Candidate of Law (Candidatus juris) in Leipzig.
