Johann Gottfried Reusmann was born the son of Adam Friedrich Reusmann (bookseller in Schneeberg). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on June 3, 1745; studied there from 1745 to 1752; and at Universität Leipzig from 1752, obtaining his Magister degree in 1761. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. After his studies, he worked as Rector in Schneeberg from 1765. |
