Johann Pietzsch was born the son of Johann Pietzsch in in Reichenbach. He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on June 10, 1739; studied there from 1739 to 1744, since October 16, 1738 already as external. As a Thomaner he was in Choir I from May 17, 1744 (Pentecost) to June 6, 1745 (Pentecost). He died as an alumnus. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. |
