Moritz Wilhelm Fichtner was born the son of Heinrich Fichtner (overseer in Leipzig). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on December 20, 1744; studied there from 1744 to 1750, previously already as external; and at Universität Leipzig from 1750. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. |
