Gotthelf Engelbert Nietzsche (Accident Inspector, Bach's Pupil)

Born: February 281 or 262, 1714 - Bibra, Thuringia, Germany
Died: September 21, 1804 - Bibra, Thuringia, Germany

Gotthelf Engelbert Nietzsche was born to Johann Christoph Nietzsche (accident inspector in Bibra) and Johanna Christiane Büttner. He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on December 10, 1730; and studied there from 1730 to 1736, since October 26, 1729 already as external. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. After his studies, he worked as (elector general) accident inspector in Bibra from c1739 to 1804. He was married to Johanna Amalia Nietzsche; and father of Christoph Gotthold Leberecht Nietzsche; Johanne Christine Karoline Nietzsche; August Konstantin Nietzsche; Luise Juliane Augustine Nietzsche; Luise Wilhelmine Ernestine Nietzsche and 3 others
