Gottlob Heinrich Neicke [Neucke] was born to Gottfried Neicke (cooper in Grimma). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on June 5, 1724; studied there from from 1724 to 1733, and Universität Leipzig from 1729. J.S. Bach wrote in a report from August 23, 1730: "not yet ready to be used in the 1st choir (figural music)”. In 1741 he was appointed Kantor in Borna |
