Friedrich Rudolf Lüdecke (Kantor, Bach's Pupil?) |
Born: unknown date - Oschersleben, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany (?)
Died: May 1, 1758 - Berlin, Germany |
Friedrich Rudolf Lüdecke was born the son of Johann Andreas Lüdecke (from 1709 Kantor at Petrikirche in Berlin, previously in Oschersleben). He was appoined Kantor at Petrikirche in Berlin on August 2, 1725, succeeding Adam Heinrich Steinichen. There were some doubts about his abillities, and his father had to promise that he would take care of his son's improvement. Nevertheless, he had committed himself need to fill in the gaps of his ability as best he can, he never seems far have brought, because after 10 years he was still haunted by the magistrate. He served in this post until his death in May 1758, succeeded by Wilhelm August Traugott.
Johann Mattheson described in his Großen Generalbaß-Schule after a message from Martin Heinrich Fuhrmann an anecdote about the the occupation process of the organist's office at the Petrikirche in Berlin in 1725. Accordingly, if F.L. Lüdecke was elected, he was planned to continue his training with J.S. Bach in Leipzig soon. According to Berliner Ratsprotokoll from 1735, this had not yet taken place, so that F.R. Lüdecke should be excluded as J.S. Bach's pupil.
