Samuel Gottlieb Lesche [Lösch] was born to Joseph Lesche (schoolmaster in Kröbeln). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on June 18, 1725; studied there from 1725 to 1731, since July 3, 1724 already as external; and at Universität Leipzig in 1729. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. J.S. Bach reported: (August 23, 1730): “not yet ready to be used in the 1st choir (figural music)”. He died in Leipzig in 1754 as Theology student. |
