Wilhelm Theodor Krauss was born the son of Christoph Theodor Krauß (Kantor in Herzberg). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on July 10, 1734; studied there from 1734 to 1744; at Universität Leipzig from 1744; and at Universität Wittenberg from 1745. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. |
