Rudolph Katzschmann was born the son of Johann Christoph Katzschmann (hunter in Söllichau). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on June 21, 1734; studied there from 1735 to 1740. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. |
