Johann Gottfried Kade was born the son of Ernst Gottfried Kade (administrator in Leubingen). He studierd at Domschule in Merseburg from 1734; enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on April 30, 1736; studied there from 1736 to 1745, since April 8, 1736 already as external. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. After his studies, he worked as informator for Herr von Krosigk; Kantor from 1750 and Tertius from 1752 at the Nikolaischule in Leipzig; Magister (1752); librarian at the Ratsbibliothek in Leipzig. |
