Johann Gottlieb Herzsch was born the son of Johann Christoph Herzsch (schoolmaster in Kyhna). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on June 4, 1745; studied there from 1745 to 1752; and at Universität Leipzig from 1752. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. |
