Jacob Gottlieb Hausius was born to Gottlieb Hausius (pastor). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on June 20, 1730; studied there from 1730 to 1736; and at Universität Leipzig in 1736. J.S. Bach reported (1730) “incompetent, not at all musical”.. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. |
