Christian Gottlob Graf [Graff] was born the son of Johann David Graf (baker in Eilenburg). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on May 19, 1741; studied there from 1741 to 1746; and at Universität Leipzig from 1746. As a Thomaner he was in Choir II from May 17, 1744 (Pentecost) to June 6, 1745 (Pentecost). Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. He received his Magister degree in Wittenberg in 1761; and worked as Rector in Eilenburg from 1762. |
