The German composer, Ferdinand Bruckmann, studied from 1950 to 1957 at the Musikhochschule in Cologne (piano, clarinet, composition with Frank Martin).
From 1964 to 1968 Ferdinand Bruckmann was professor of piano at the Musikhochschule in Osaka (Japan); in 1968 was appointed at the Osaka University of Arts. After his return to Germany, he has been teaching at the Universität/Gesamthochschule Essen (since 1978 at the Universität Duisburg). He also taches at the Musikschule of Krefeld (Deputy Director since 1972). He now lives in Kempen in the Lower Rhine.
Ferdinand Bruckmann has given numerous performances as a pianist - a soloist, chamber music, concertos with orchestra - in Europe and Asia. His compositions include: piano works, chamber music in various ensembles, Lieder, orchestral works (including four piano concertos). |
