The German composer, Helmut Bechtel, studied jurisprudence in Cologne, Bonn and Freiburg); then musicology and ethnology in Cologne); attended the master-classes for flute and recorder with Professor G. Scheck and viola with Profesoor Emil Seiler at the Musikhochschule in Freiburg. He studied composition with Profesoor Jürg Baur in Dusseldorf.
Helmut Bechtel was a lecturer at the VHS Dusseldorf, among others, and gave numerous chamber music courses. He appeared in concerts of chamber music and as a soloist with orchestra, mainly as recorder player, but also as violist. Currently he is a composer, writer and photographer (about 40 books).
Helmut Bechtel’s compositions include: several solo works for flute, recorder, piano, and viola; duos, trios for string and wind instruments; quartets and quintets for various string and wind ensembles; works for solo voices with instruments; concertos with orchestra for cello, flute, violin. |
